Here is where your parents can find out what it is that we are currently studying and working on during the French half of the day. This page will not be updated on a daily basis. Rather, it will be updated on a regular basis in order to describe what assignments you are currently working on.
In Social Studies, we are starting the year with a look at Canada and it's role in the world economy! We will study Canada's economic growth and how it relies on specific trading partners. You will learn about the United States, Great Britain and Japan and the economic relationship we have developed with these three countries. You will also learn how important it is for Canada to work with these countries in order to buy (import) and sell (export) goods in order to keep our economy strong and prosperous.
Montre et raconte!
Students have finished their first montre et raconte. This is a great way for students to converse in their second language. The next opportunity to share will be when they present their pays francophone to the class, allowing all students to learn about the different countries that recognise French as one of its official languages.

Santé!
In health class, we are starting the year by looking at substance abuse. Students will understand the effects on the human body produced by the consumption of alcohol, smoking and/or drug use.
Les pays francophone!
Students will be starting a project in French class. Each student will receive a country that has French as one of its official languages. Students will research that particular country, identifying its flag, location on a world map, traditions and customs as well as some brief historical notes about the country's past. Work starts after Thanksgiving.
